The Rotary Club of Westerville is proud to announce a donation of $32,427.80 to Westerville Youth Connection (WYC) to support the development of The Launch Pad, a drop-in center for youth and young adults ages 14–24 who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

The check was officially presented to WYC President Ellen Cathers during the May 22 Rotary meeting, marking a significant milestone in a growing collaboration to serve vulnerable members of our community.

The Launch Pad will provide a safe and welcoming space where young people can access food, hygiene supplies, necessities, and connections to critical services such as mental health resources, job readiness, and mentoring. The project was inspired by conversations with the Westerville City School District, which raised concerns about the increasing number of students facing housing instability and food insecurity.

The $32,000+ donation, approved by the Rotary board of directors, reflects the club’s strong commitment to creating meaningful, lasting change in Westerville. The funds will help cover the Launch Pad’s initial setup costs.

In addition to this contribution, WYC members are exploring further fundraising efforts, including individual pledges, corporate sponsorships, and community events, to support the long-term sustainability of the center.

The Rotary Club of Westerville believes every young person deserves a place to feel safe, supported, and seen. The Launch Pad is just the beginning.
