Do you know a young person in the Westerville area experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness?

We are hosting a special event Wednesday, Oct. 25, for any young person between 14 and 24 who is:

  • Experiencing homelessness, or
  • Couch surfing from house to house, or
  • Sleeping in their car, or
  • Not sure where they will be staying from day to day, or
  • Food insecure, or
  • In need of medical services or advice.

The Rotary Clubs of Westerville – Noon and Sunrise clubs – are hosting this event Oct. 25 as an outreach to youths in this situation. The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 25 on the Otterbein University campus, at Church of the Master United Methodist, 24 N. Grove St.

Joining us in presenting the event are Star House, Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Star House, a drop-in housing shelter for homeless youth and longtime partner of the Rotary Club of Westerville, is helping us to assess the need for their services in the area.

The Oct. 25 event will be fun and informative for our guests. There will be a free meal and free haircuts for those who want them, access to local services, and special gift raffles at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. Star House representatives will make a brief presentation for the youth from 6-6:15.

Please help us get this information to any young people who may benefit. Share with anyone who may be able to reach young people in this situation. Thank you.
