Rotary Food Drive for WARM

Food Drive is partnership between Rotary, WARM, Kroger

The Rotary Club of Westerville annually conducts the Rotary WARM Holiday Food Drive to benefit the local food pantry of the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM). The Holiday Food Drive began in 2003, launched by our affiliated Rotaract Club at Otterbein University, when the Rotaract Club was led by sophomore Chris Blackburn, son of that year’s Rotary Club of Westerville President Tom Blackburn.

Drive 2020The Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise has become a partner in this event and Kroger since its inception has been the drive’s major sponsor.

The food drive takes place in neighborhoods across Westerville. Volunteers are sought to be Team Captains, Drivers and Runners.

Details of the 2021 Rotary WARM Holiday Food Drive have just been released.

The drive seeks to reach 18,000 homes this year, a 4,000-home increase from 2020). So more Team Captains than ever are needed.

The 2021 timeline has been set as follows:

  • Team Captain training: to be completed remotely (1-2 weeks prior, TBD)
  • Team Captain’s pick-up of bags and materials: Nov. 18–24 (times TBD)
  • Empty bag drop-offs at neighborhood homes: Nov. 26–Nov 29
  • Filled bag pick-ups in neighborhoods (official Rotary WARM HFD day): Dec. 4 (8:30am–noon)

Today's meeting was filled with gratitude, laughter, and well-deserved recognition! Charlie Boss, Westerville Schools Coordinator of Communications & Community Engagement, was honored as our Community Partner of the Year. We thanked outgoing board members Brad Dodrill and Eric Gibson for their three years of service, and recognized Eric as our Special Projects Superstar. The highlight of the day? Presenting the Bill Tompos Rotarian of the Year Award to Dave Read, whose passion and leadership have left a powerful mark on our club. We also presented the Rising Star Award to a Westerville South senior and heard from current and past scholarship recipients. Dave Read wrapped up the meeting with an update on I-CAN and the difference it's making for students. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make this celebration so special! @followers Rotary District 6690 ... See MoreSee Less
